Question by 08.22.12: What would cause lack of sex drive in a 21 year old female?
I’m not overweight.
I don’t smoke, drink or do drugs.

I never feel like having sex. What is wrong with me?
I’ve been with my boyfriend for 3 years.
We used to have sex many times a day..
now I never feel like it.
Could I just not be attracted to him anymore?

I’m currently on lexapro and I can feel it’s side effect it’s having on my sex drive, even when i’m just sitting. It tremendously decreases it. I want to have children in the future, would it cause problems in my future if i get married ?

no- this is a well-known side effect of anti-depressants that should get better over time (a few months or so)- if not, maybe you could tell your dr. and have them put you on a different one.

I was on Yaz for 2 yrs and I was moody and my sex drive completely vanished, so I recently switched to Loestrin 24 fe and only been on it for a month and a half and gained 5 lbs but my sex drive is back. I have had 2 ectopic pregnancies so IUC’s are out, so what bc pill has the least side effects…particularly least weight gain and doesn’t effect sex drive?

my aunt couldn’t have more babies no more because she took a lot prevention pills.

Well at least she have to worry about a single child.

Ok, im a 21 year old male and lately my sex drive has been low…meaning lots of energy the first round of sex, but the second round not so good, it takes a really long time for me to get hard again, and I think it is because of my hemroid that flares up every once in a while. I mean it makes since that if something is flared up in your anus, you probably will not be able to get hard easily or no? I even tried those stupid stamina pills they do nothing!

The first thing you need to do is figure out why your sex drive is low and try to help get it back. I was in your situation and it’s not fun without being horny and feeling in the mood when needed. I also felt like my orgasms (if I would even get one) were really weak. Probably because of my sex drive.

However, I tried exercising and dieting but nothing seemed to be working. I thought I was screwed. I then found something just as amazing as the vibrator.

My friend at work told me about this stuff she took to raise her sex drive. It was a natural herbal supplement and was I lucky to of found it. Question by Sam: How does high prolactin cause low sex drive?
I found out that I have moderately high prolactin, which isn’t surprising because for several years I’ve had milk secretion without pregnancy, which I always thought was a bit odd. I also had an MRI of my brain and they found a tiny pituitary cyst. I’m just curious about what it is about having high prolactin that causes low sex drive. Is it the effect on estrogen? I don’t know if my estrogen is abnormal.

Anti-depressants, some other medications, drugs, anxiety, depression, stress, low self-confidence.

Teenager normally don’t have low sex drives unless they’re on mediactions or very depressed.

I am currently taking 25 mg of time release paxil twice a day ( a total of 50mg daily). My depression has eased, some of the side effects are as follows:

I have gained 22 lbs since being on paxil.
I find I do not have the motivation to exercise or be as active as I used to be.
My sex drive has taken a major dive for the worse…everything is still functional, although not as alert as I am accostomed to. The biggest problem is that I just don’t have the desire to have sex anymore. This is taking a major tole on my relationship. HELP!!!!!

Of all the antidepressants, the one with the least sexual side effects is Wellbutrin. I took that for awhile and noticed no decrease in my sex drive, etc.

Hormones. There is nothing you can do to increase your testosterone level without seeing a medical professional. Maybe try working out to get the blood and testosterone pumping.
