Chills, night sweats, sore throat, headaches.. etc.?07.09.10

So about 2 nights ago I began having these type of symptoms: Sore throat, headaches, fever, chills, night sweats, sometimes feeling tired/fatigued. It started with the sore throat and it’s only gotten worse. I’ve been up all night because I can’t fall asleep with all of this going on.. what does this sound like??

What causes fevers, chills, night sweats resolving into cough?04.30.10

My spouse developed high fever, chills, decreased appetite, fatigue, achy joints, and mild diarrhea. Two days later, I developed the same symptoms with fevers, chills, rigors, night sweats, decreased appetite, and very mild bowel symptoms.

Neither of us have had flu shots, so we assumed it was the flu. Our kids, who did have the shot, did not seem to get the illness. The above symptoms lasted 4-6 days for both of us during which time we were laid up in bed.

As the initial illness got better, my wife began to develop a sore throat and cough. She also developed wheezes and crackles in her lungs (no need for a stethoscope to hear those!). She was only coughing up clear spit – nothing green. As my illness got better, I followed suit (no sore throat though, but cough) and now as I breath in and out I can hear my lungs sputtering and popping. I haven’t coughed up anything green, but I did just cough up something (very small, maybe 10mmx3mm) that looked like a small bit of lung tissue.

Only during the initial illness did either of us have fever. Neither of us have fever now, and other than the cough and junky lungs, we feel fine.

I haven’t really heard of any lung illnesses that start off so bad with fever/chills but then leave a person with such a terrible cough and junky lungs and no other symptoms (fever). I would assume that pneumonia and fever always go hand-in-hand, so if our initial illness was some kind of viral/bacterial pneumonia (instead of the flu), shouldn’t we still have a fever?

What are the possible causes in this case?

Why do I have night sweats and chills but no fever?04.29.10

I have been feeling horrible these past few days. It feels like Im trying to get sick but my body is fighting it or something. I have been having a minor nasal drip with some chest congestion. A dry cough for the most part but sometimes I do cough up some mucus. I also just feel very drained throughout the day. For the past 2 nights I have been sleeping 10+ hours. I wake up at times with all wet from night sweats and very bad chills. I took my temperature but it was 98 degrees. Once i got warm again I slept fine.

I also have some diarrhea, but Im not sure that has to do with anything. Does anyone know what this could be? Will I be ok? lol

After giving birth-night sweats, reg. sweats, chills, off and on (1 or 2 a day) for the past 4 days?04.22.10

I gave birth last tuesday, 12-26, and I’m breastfeeding. For the past 4 days I’ve been having night sweats, sweats in the day, chills, headache once or twice a day, and then I feel fine. I dont have Mastitis as I have asked my doc this, she said if there’s no red streaks (there isnt) then it’s not, but engorgement, which I’m thinking might be the case. BC my breast get really hot at times (oh and milk has come in, nipples were cracked, but healed, was having trouble latching on, but since last night, bettter on both.) and I did not have Gestational Diabetes, but diabetes does run in my family. so much info but i really want to know if any of you pregnant moms who breastfeed have ever gone through this? is it hormones? i was anemic, but doc didnt have problem w/ this bc it was at a good count before i gave birth. is it that? i had a c-section, but cut is healing fine, there was a flare up on the right side, but i’m putting ice on it and it feels better. please let me know!
