Question by Cherie: decreased libido due to depo provera shot?
Has anyone else experienced this? My doctor said that it is a very rare side effect but i have heard of this happening to many others. Does anyone have any ideas or remedies to improve my libido?

I just started taking the pill about a month ago, and the same thing happened to me for the first few weeks. I was really worried it would last forever! But now I’m back to normal, so I think the best advice I have is to wait it out, and if it doesn’t come back, talk to your doctor and maybe switch to a different form of birth control that won’t do that to you.

I just started taking the shot 2 months ago but I’ve noticed a huge decrease in my sex drive.Is that normal?

My wife suffers from chronic depression and for a while she had no sex drive. Then she stopped taking her birth control and turned into a nympho (lol). Then she started taking the depo shot(since we were having so much sex) and it killed her sex drive again. It’s starting to damage our marriage.

it is a side effect of the shot. there are other birth control opposition out there try those
