Question by samantha: What can i do about increasing my sex drive during pregnancy?
I am 6 weeks pregnant and I have lost all sex drive, to the point where my bf is getting upset. I’ve tried explaining the hormones and how I am not in the mood, I am beyond myself. I don’t know what to do.

Best answer:

Answer by K J
First of all stop blaming yourself and tell your BF to quit being selfish and just thinking of him self. Believe me…over the course of your pregnancy your hormones are going to be going crazy…the first trimester is the worse…the second you are going to feel actually quite good and really want sex…tell him that…it takes time for your body to adjust to being pregnant and at only 6 weeks it is only the beginning…it will get better but for now do not worry about your BF take care of you and soon enough your sex drive will return….and remember…after the baby comes it will be 6 weeks again minimum before you are able to resume normal sexual activity…just getting your BF ready for what is to come..lol….really he should be more understanding and you definitely do not need the added stress of a BF who is not supportive….it is hard at the beginning your body is going through so many changes…you should just show this question to him so that he can see for himself that he is causing you more stress by making you feel guilty for something that you have absolutely no control over…let him see…perhaps he will understand more…congratulations on the coming of your new little baby, take care and no worries as far as sex right now…it will change.

Question by dymond: Is it normal to have a crusty white/yellowish discharge in under wear during menopause?
It is the same as it was before I started my period 40 years ago.Thick white and flakey when it dries.I do not have a yeast infection or any STD. I’ve had yeast infections several times in my lifetime and this is not one.Has any other woman going through peri or menopause experianced this?

Best answer:

Answer by A. Lynn
Yes, it’s normal. Your body is experiencing hormonal changes at this stage just as it was when were you about to start your period. As long as it’s not greenish, grayish, or lumpy then it’s no cause for concern.

Question by Miranda: How much do you dry up during menopause?
During menopause it is common for women to dry up ‘down there’.
Does anyone know from experience or as a medical professional how much you actually do dry up?

Best answer:

Answer by Bob J
Vaginal mucosal atrophy and vaginal dryness are signs of estrogen decline.

The most common cause of vaginal dryness is declining estrogen production, which leads to thinning and drying of the vaginal wall. Other factors that contribute to vaginal dryness include reduced muscle tone and the longer time needed for sexual arousal that is so common in perimenopause.

Emotional stress can cause vaginal dryness. Depression or being under tremendous amounts of stress contribute to the issue.

Also, vaginal dryness can be a side effect of underlying medical conditions, so it’s a good idea to check with your doctor for any underlying conditions.

Question by Jupiter Joanne: What causes the hot flushes that occur during menopause?
My hot flushes were so severe that I didn’t need a blanket all winter long. Also, is there such a thing as male menopause? If so, do men get cold flushes?
I went through a severe menopause while in my thirties, as the result of a complete hysterectomy after having uterus cancer.

Best answer:

Answer by Fafeom
The simple answer is homones, specifically hormonal changes. Your body is changing into something different from a hormonal standpoint. These symptoms are just a normal part of the change. Men go through hormonal changes as well with age, but they differ and are not as easily identifiable as something like the cessation of menstration.

Best answer:

Answer by helene
It’s the lack of estrogen. The body gets used to it, and when it goes away, there’s hell to pay.

My mother’s doctor told her that hot flashes are a kind of temper tantrum thrown by the brain, when it calls for estrogen and doesn’t get any.
