Question by 08.22.12: What would cause lack of sex drive in a 21 year old female?
I’m not overweight.
I don’t smoke, drink or do drugs.

I never feel like having sex. What is wrong with me?
I’ve been with my boyfriend for 3 years.
We used to have sex many times a day..
now I never feel like it.
Could I just not be attracted to him anymore?

I found the man of my dreams and we were fine sexually for like 2 months, all of a sudden I don’t feel like it anymore! Could is be because of stress? Not that i’m exhausted but I”m really stressed about money, school, my crappy car and finding a new job right now. Any other reasons why this type of thing happens? I’ve always have a good sex drive. Now… I just don’t feel like doing anything other than cuddling.

Stress could definitely be a possiblity, but you may also want to consider what form of birth control you’re using. After long term use of hormonal methods, some women find their sex drive diminishes to zero.

This is embarassing….I am only 21 and I have no sex drive. I have been with my husband for 4 years. When we first got together (and with guys I was with before him) I never had any problems getting or staying arroused. Now, I NEVER get arroused and have absoulutely no sex drive. My husband is very understanding but feels like it is his fault and it’s not! I seriously feel “empty” down there. To give you a little history I’ve had some female problems the last few years like having very irregular periods and such and I have only reached climax on my own with a vib rater (never by anyone else). I am embarassed to see my doc about this since I am so young and I don’t know if she would even be able to do anything about (is there even such thing as female viagra?) Please help! Thanks!
I am not on any medications or birth control right now and my husband is a great partner.
Any idea what medical condition–other than just saying “hormonal”–it may be?

well I am a guy so I dont know for sure but I have heard rumors that females can use Viagara and it will work for them. but you should definitely see a doc.

….during ovulation? I’ve been reading a lot of stuff that indicates that for a lot of women, it actually decreases, but that hasn’t been MY experience. In fact, it was always a sort of unwritten rule for kids of my generation, actively involved in pre-marital fornication in the pre-widespread birth control days, to NEVER do it (at least without a rubber) on those days when she was just DYING to.

But I’m not a woman. Who is right?
I have nothing against pre-marital sex. By the way. How could I? I’m not one of those guys that got old and tells kids to do as I say and not as I done.

Just that kids, as we were, need to be aware that they might be playing for keeps. And might have to live for a long time with what comes of it. So be real careful when you do it and who you do it with, and if you screw up, then cop to it.

I don’t doubt that women enjoy sex and experience orgasms (I mean, come on, it’d just be silly to say they don’t), but are they actively aware of sexuality like men are? Will they actually look at an attractive guy, and feel a rush like men do when they look at women, or is what they look for in a man’s appearance more “cute” than “hot”?

If yes, just how powerful is the rush they feel? Will they become so fixated on the feeling that they can hardly focus on anything else?

Hello all… I’m 22, female and I’ve been married for almost 2 years now. Even before my husband and I got married my sex drive has been obsolete. Before I met my husband and all the time while we were dating I LOVED sex. It was great… every night. For some reason, now I just can’t get into it. We have had countless arguments over it, cheating accusations and just a lot of hardship from this problem. I honestly can’t tell you why I don’t want to do it anymore, but I really would like to know myself because I’m afraid to lose my marriage over it. I never wanted a relationship based on sex but I know that you can’t have much of a relationship without some sort of physical intimacy to go along with it. I dont like telling my husband no, in fact it always makes me feel like a horrible wife because I hate seeing him disappointed, but I know once we do go to bed I won’t be into and it will hurt him worse. I’ve told him that I just don’t have much of a sex drive, and to please be patient with me, but I fear he’s nearing his threshold for tolerance. I need some help here. I know that my hormones are all crazy right now because I haven’t had my period in around 8 months, but this problem was around way before that. If anyone has some advice please feel free to post it. I need all the help I can get!

do something out of the ordinary, get vagina pierced for example, or get some cialisis, maybe that will help let me know

One common problem that happens is this. I have been there and done that. You have to figure out what it is first that is destroying your sex drive. If your on medication like birth control or anti-depressants that is something to think about and do research on. Other then that it could just be stress, maybe the kids, really anything that makes your life stressful can do this and lower the libido.

One thing I tried that seemed to work while I was doing it was exercising. I just felt sexier doing it which kind of boosted my libido. However it wasn’t the best solution for me.
