Question by FlashesOfBrilliance: What is the typical sex drive for a male of 18-24 years of age?
Consider Bob, the typical heterosexual male of 18-24 years of age. What does Bob think when he sees a woman? How often does he have sex? How often does he want to have sex? What thoughts go through his head when aroused?

I ask these questions as, while I do not consider myself asexual, I only have about about one or two weeks a year during which I actively want and pursue physical relationships, and even then, I exhibit great restraint in moving forward and still today have never understood my male friends when they speak of sex. I fear this is not normal behavior. Any insight?

bob thinks about sex every other second or so if hes “normal”. at night, if he hasnt had sex he has wet dreams. bob thinks about the availability of every woman he sees all day every day, if only briefly. bob is “average”
Average is just that, however. some men have lower than “average” sex drives. some have higher. this does not make you abnormal, just on the low end of the scale, drive-wise. and a lot of women (with adequate self esteem) will appreciate this to no end….

To be honest, I think you should take sometime to get to know you, hell it took 30 years before I found out who i was (although i had an idea from age4)…who knows you might be fine just as you are, and there are some things about HRT that are not reversable…you please take some time and think about it.

I have been with my boyfriend for over a year. In the beginning of our relationship we had sex all the time. After being together for about three months the sex started to decrease. We moved in together last year and began only having sex about two times a month, which is not enough for me. He gets very upset when I bring it up, and recently told me that due to the anti- depressants he is on (Celexa) he has no sex drive. It has now been over a month since we have had sex, and I dont know what to do about this.. no one wants to beg for sex. I just cant stop thinking that the problem is with me and it is driving me crazy. Does anyone know anything about how Celexa effects sex drive or just have any advice for me in general? I am so frusterated! Thanks.

I’m not sure about Celexa, but I do know that there are medications out there that do cause a lack of sex drive, and you need to either put up with it or get out of the relationship. Depends on how much you really care!

I don’t think there are any linkage known to date with sex drive. Memory on the other hand …

I lost the link but a few days ago I read a article on the long-term study of weed usage and brain functions. A long-term smoker (eg 10+years) showed a significant decrease in funcationality in the part of the brain that controls Memory and Emotions (up to 10-15% decrease).

This study mentioned that it only took into account people who smoked 4+ times a day. A typical weed smoker over a short period of time is most likely not to experience any side effects other than being “high”.

I am a pretty young guy and I have been seeing this girl for about 3 years.
Lately, within the past few months, I seem to have no sex drive.
It’s really causing problems between us and I want to be close to her! I just find it impossible to get in the mood.
I looked into it and have found that L-Arginine increases sex drive, but once again, I’m kind of a young guy so I’m way too embarrassed to get known brands like viagra, etc.

L-Arginine increases oxygen in the blood vessels.

To increase Libidio take some Ginseng, and Stiff Nights.

PLEASE don’t send me advertisements for expensive pills designed for this (gimmicks, usually!!). I just would like to know which natural herbal supplements are able to increase sex drive in men.

yohimbe is the best but if the person has high blood pressure than dont , but the next best supplements is horney goat weed and trubulus terrestris. Tribulus gets you going and horney goat gives you more stamina

well different time for different folks but i’m in my 50′s and my dad’s in his 70′s and so far we are okay…. i hope to be okay still in my 80′s…… wish you luck too buddy
