Q&A: Is it normal for a lower sex drive after a ovary has been removed?02.09.12

Question by Stefanie P: Is it normal for a lower sex drive after a ovary has been removed?
I had a ovary removed due to cysts and now I Have no sex drive. When I first had the surgery my sex drive sky-rocketed and now I could care less if I ever had sex again. Is this normal?

Best answer:

Answer by Ege
estrogen and some other hormones are screted by ovaries. Most probaby after removal it took sometime for your body to find a new balance. This side effect might be quite common in this kind of operation. If you’re unhappy with it you may speak to your doctor and have a HRT therapy. Or try chinese herbal medicine, if you find a good practitioner it’s a safer option.

female sex drive, is this normal?02.03.12

Question by michelle: female sex drive, is this normal?
my god i can’t keep up with myself. do women somehow hit a massive sexual drive when they’re 24/25?? i have never been so horny in my life. to the point of actually thinking of going to pick up guys just for sex. do all women get like this in their mid 20s??
what do women do when this happens?? how do u deal with the consequences of one night stands?

Best answer:

Answer by TheEditor
Yes – this is normal in spring/summer if you feel healthy. Hormone storms rage through you.

Shop for some ‘toys’ and indulge yourself. Internet porn and “SoloTouch” web site has stories to help this activity.

I’m actually all for you going out for one night stands (guys do this all the time), but sex is like fire – you should know the physical dangers, but hang out in the bars too much and you get a ‘reputation’ and the bar scene is not a real healthy lifestyle.

Better idea is to call up some old boy pals and if they are not in a serious relationship – ask them if they want to be “friends with benefits”.

It’s much better to have someone you know help scratch the itch than one-night-stands.

Good luck and stay safe.

Is it normal for a 25 yr old female to have no sex drive?01.11.12

Question by Future Rich Girl: Is it normal for a 25 yr old female to have no sex drive?
I am 25 and married for a year and a half.
I honestly have close to no sex drive.
I mostly just have sex to make my husband happy.
We are really happy together, so it’s nothing wrong with the relationship.
I am really busy in college so that may have a little do with it.
But I used to have a great sex drive and now it’s totally gone.

Is this normal?
What can I do about it?

Answer by ??G?AC3??
your doctor can check your hormone levels, maybe they are off. Also, depression can make you lose your sex drive, could you be depressed?

It is the same as it was before I started my period 40 years ago.Thick white and flakey when it dries.I do not have a yeast infection or any STD. I’ve had yeast infections several times in my lifetime and this is not one.Has any other woman going through peri or menopause experianced this?

Best answer:

Answer by A. Lynn
Yes, it’s normal. Your body is experiencing hormonal changes at this stage just as it was when were you about to start your period. As long as it’s not greenish, grayish, or lumpy then it’s no cause for concern.

Do you think his libido will ever go back to normal?10.26.11

Question by i’m getting married!: Do you think his libido will ever go back to normal?
My fiance’s libido has declined over the last five years, and the last four years has been almost non-existent. He’s too embarrassed to go to the docs, and has promised to find ‘natural’ remedies, but as yet hasn’t tried any. I love him, and will stay with him regardless, but i SO miss the closeness and intimacy we once had. Do you think things will just go back to normal on their own, or should i push him to try and change things? Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Adair
Five years is a long time to think this could clear up on it’s own. You have agreed to marry a man who is too embarrassed to go to the doctor, but has failed to treat himself for a condition that greatly affects you both, after promising to do so. Yes, you definitely need to push him. He is being negligent of you both, and immature. Before a doctor starts residency, he/she has studied and heard about cases much more dramatic than your fiance’s. As an adult who’s ready to marry, he should be able to get help for himself, especially if his condition is affecting you.

What do you think? Answer below!

How long is it normal to have decreased libido after childbirth?10.02.11

Question by one_lil_monkey: How long is it normal to have decreased libido after childbirth?
Before I had my baby over a year ago, I had a very high libido. Ever since I had the baby, I have not wanted sex at all, and even have aversions to it on many occasions. It seems I either want it all the time or NEVER (usually never. I usually feel sorry for my husband a couple times per week and do it, but I don’t really want to). I could go for a month without it and then every night for a week straight. Is it normal to fluctuate so wildly? I am not on any medications, including chemical birth control. I am not working, baby sleeps wonderfully, and our relationship is good.
