Is it possible to remove male sex drive?01.31.12

Question by i_am_me_1981: Is it possible to remove male sex drive?
Male, 26. Throughout all my life, there has never been a single female interested in me, ever. I’m not rich, have no time since I’m always working to pay the bills, am ugly, and have no meatspace social skills. For whatever reason there’s been a couple of gay guys, but unfortunately I’m not gay and am just not interested… not that I wouldn’t like to be sometimes. Virtually all women, on the other hand, have been cruel to me and nothing else.

I’m married now, due to politics (my one female friend needs a visa), but she’s not interested in me one bit and refuses to do anything, ever. My sex drive has caused me nothing but grief ever since it’s started up. I’m growing tired of net porn, and don’t want to spend any more time with it, and no more time looking for women, but I’m drawn to them both against my will. How can I get rid of it? I do a lot of physical work and don’t really want to drop muscle mass, so I’d prefer not to reduce testosterone levels to near nothing through whatever means. Any ideas?

Note: Please don’t go into “you deserve a satisfying sex life” and so forth. It’s not going to happen, please don’t taunt me anymore. I’ve heard those empty words, but unless you’re female and going to volunteer, if that’s what you’re planning on answering, just let it drop. Thanks.

Is it possible for a libido enhancer to decrease onex sex drive?12.22.11

Question by questioned: Is it possible for a libido enhancer to decrease onex sex drive?
I took a libido enhancer from gnc and my period stopped and my sex drive went to absolutely nothing. Is there any herb that could be responsible for this?

You need to find out what you really took and then ask your doctor. An ob/qyn wouldn’t have given you a herb but perhaps testosterone. I wouldn’t take anything until you get some blood work done to see whether there’s a hormonal imbalance. And don’t take herbs unless you’ve researched them carefully. This site is good: http://www.ahealthyme.com

Usually, one’s libido drops because of exhaustion, other medical problems, one’s own emotional difficulties, or difficulties in the relationship. Don’t treat it until you’ve thought about all of this.

Is it possible to be starting menopause and all of the hormonal lab work turn out negative?09.28.11

Question by A: Is it possible to be starting menopause and all of the hormonal lab work turn out negative?
My mom is 49 years old and has been having sudden anxiety/depression. She describes what sounds to be like a hot flash combined with sudden anxiety and panic. She went to the MD and was tested for elevated estrogen/progesterone/luteinizing hormone, but all were within normal limits. IS it possible to be starting menopause without having elevated hormones?

Best answer:

Answer by Louise
Yes that is precisely what happened to me – my results looked fine. The blood tests give normal results based on the average person. However each individual has different hormonal requirements. My specialist put me on a very small dose of estradiol, progesterone and testosterone and my symptoms vanished.
