Can low sex drive be a symptom a health or hormone issue. What should I look into other than emotional issues?05.23.12

Question by thetigersnameistony: Can low sex drive be a symptom a health or hormone issue. What should I look into other than emotional issues?
I am a almost 30yrs female and tired of not having any sex drive. I feel horrible in relationships because I know I should want to have sex more, I just rarely seem to want to. I probably am one of the only females that would rather perform oral sex 90% of the time and have intercourse every once in a while.

I don’t want to be like this anymore and have horrible insurance and very little time to be running around investigating this problem…so if anyone has any insight please provide it.

I do notice that I tend to have much more of a sex drive in the morning, and at night I am just not interested. I am not ruling out the idea that it is emotional however I do believe I have hormone imbalances. (I have horrible acne, extremely light menstrual cycles, don’t sleep well, low body temp. and lots of other signs of such.) When I can get into it, I don’t orgasm and half way through am waiting for it to be over. I also recently noticed bleeding and have cramps a day or 2 afterwards

You have not said if you use b/c pills. If the answer is yes, you have your answer, many of those b/c methods cause a low libido, no sex drive etc.

If you do not use any form of b/c (hormonal) your description of all those symptoms, I would say that even with a bad insurance its worthwhile to go see a gynecologist who could prescribe one of those “wonder” remedies that regulate your cycle, dispose of acne and might do something to your sex drive.

What should a husband do if wife has low sex drive?01.13.12

Question by JakePatter: What should a husband do if wife has low sex drive?
It’s going on years and wife says she has no drive. I pick up slack at home, helping bath kids, fill her car with gas, dishes and yet she won’t even try to have an intimate relationship. She won’t read up on what might cause the problem, could really careless. I’m dying to connect emotionally and physically. She still dresses provocatively when going to work, would she still care if her boob’s can be seen if she didn’t have a sex drive? Help!

remind her that the difference between a marriage and roommates is sex. The difference between friends and a sexual relationship is sex. Drag her to counseling as well.

I am nearing menopause, how should I adjust my diet to minimize the effects of it?10.03.11

Question by Tones: I am nearing menopause, how should I adjust my diet to minimize the effects of it?
Also, what changes in my lifestyle will help in reducing the effects of menopause so that I can live a healthy life into my 50s, 60s, and after retirement?

Best answer:

Answer by Joseph
If there was a way to minimize menopause effects through diet I guess most women would have preferred that on any HRT or other ways.

I would say you need to adjust your diet no matter how old you are. The sugars, starches and fast food in general are the enemies of a healthy life style. What is called the Mediterranean diet i.e. lots of fish, vegetables, fruits, olive oil those should be the main ingredients on your table. You can look it up in Google or Yahoo. Then there is another very important thing and its exercise, even just walking 5 times a week for half or one hour is so very important. If you can go to exercise classes that would be great. Sleep 7 hours a night I think these are the main guidelines. But, if you think these steps will diminish or minimize menopause effects, that would be an illusion. Some women experience very harsh symptoms and take HRT and some can live with the symptoms, its very personal.
