Perimenopause Help

Question by crybaby5562: what are the sign and symptoms of perimenopause or menopause? what is the normal age for it to start?
i have not had a menstrual cycle in two months and i get all the symptoms of it getting ready to come. i have taken a pregnancy test and it came back negative.
age at present is 43 years old

Question by justlookin4friendsonly: Is getting dry during sex with my husband another sign of perimenopause?
I’ve had other signs of perimenopause, I’m 36, he’s 41. It got SOOO painful it hurt him, then me! I need to go to my midwife soon. I’ve also been experiencing symptoms of pregnancy.
Is there ANYTHING my midwife can prescribe for the dryness?

It’s affecting my relationship, we hardly have sex anymore & my husband said he’s losing interest & I feel guilty, though I know I can’t control it, I know it’s affecting both of us.

I would definitely approach your midwife about the possibility of pregnancy. I don’t think that getting dry is a sign of menopause. I mean, there are teenagers out there that get dry all the time. There are also MANY women of the ages 18-45 that get dry while having sex. I would suggest some lube or something to help with the dryness. I hope that helps you out.

It came with lightheadedness, too..

I’ve had other symptoms (tender nips, spotting, cramping, headaches, exhaustion) but this is one I haven’t heard of
My period isn’t due for another week or so

I have been TTC #2 for awhile now and my most recent period is all screwed up. I was supposed to get it on Jan 29 (34 day cycle) but a week before that I got brown discharge for about a week (Jan 22) then it turned red but wasn’t heavy (only one tampon needed per day). Today is Feb 11 and i am still having light blood…I don’t need to wear a tampon or pad, its pink when I wipe. And some days there isn’t any pink/red at all. About 3 days ago I have alot of EWCM that was red (could this have meant that I was ovulating??). My normal periods last 6-7 days, heavy blood the first 3 days and then get lighter until they just end.

Anyone know of reasons this “period” would be lasting this long? Also last night I had night sweats, which is very abnormal for me…I woke up dying of heat. And my nipples are a little tingly at times. What is going on with me?

I am 26 completely healthy (been checked by fertility doctor, so has my hubby), have not been on any medications including b/c in years.
