Q&A: I need some info regarding perimenopause and its symptoms.?09.03.10

Question by bt71: I need some info regarding perimenopause and its symptoms.?
I am 54 and my periods have been regular with the exception of missing 1 in the last 6 months. I ovulated about 14 days ago and have not had a period as of yet. The week of ovulation I had mild cramping and backache. I had never experienced this before and my breasts have been swollen and tender since that time. Are all these symptoms just hormonal to perimenopause or could it be something else. Maybe it’s just PMS and my period is late or skipping altogether . Had sex 1 day before ovulation but I seriously doubt any ramifications from that. Any info would be appreciated…..thanks!

Likely perimenopausal. At your age, that’s the most likely explanation. You can expect hormone fluctuations during perimenopause, like for example estrogen spikes–that’s probably what is causing the breast tenderness. If the problem persists for a few more weeks, then see your gynecologist.

what to do to get relieve from perimenopause symptoms?08.30.10

Question by payasitabebe: what to do to get relieve from perimenopause symptoms?
I am in perimenopause so my period is going crazy. I am late for a week now, I know of course that I am not pregnant so i think is a face of perimenopause.
What is bothering me the most is this headache and nausea I get together with feeling hot, is very uncomfortable and I feel sick with this symptoms but I still have to go to work, so please if you know of something I can take or do to relieve this symptoms, I have to tell you that my inclination is for natural/alternative medicine since my body don’t take conventional medicine very well.
Any suggestion will be really appreciated.
