Perimenopause Help

Question by astia l: Can using meds that lower estrogen really make you leaner?
My body builder friend says that he uses these pills that lower his levels of estrogen to cut body fat and suggests that I try them for a few days to shed some unwanted fat- I am already slim/ athletic. I am a female. Also, is this really that safe, even if the dose is low?
I would only take them for a few days- so it is not like I would turn into a man or anything. I just wonder if anyone has done this and what their outcome was.

i am not a medical expert…but i can tell you that it might work for him being male and have the opposite effect on you. my doctor just gave me estrogen patches to help with my weight gain due to perimenopause. you really should check with a doctor.

I have heard that females with higher levels of estrogen have more physically attractive features. Would taking a form of estrogen effect the way an adult woman looks?

No. Your physical features are determined by your genes. Unless you have plastic surgery you can’t alter them. You don’t take a shot or smear a cream on your face at night and wake up looking like megan fox.

I’m making a movie parody of Lord of the Flies and the word “estrogen” is used in the title. Does this sound too inappropriate for school? By the way, I was having trouble picking a category for this question.
It’s one of those “what if girls were on the island instead of boys” type of parodies.
